Everything is Changed

Since the last march, we have witnessed a lot of changes in the world and also in our lifestyles. During the lockdown, we learned how to live alone, how to connect through social media, we forgot how to laugh without friends. Life became dull and different. We were desperately waiting for the lockdown to be over and when it has finally ended, we again feel empty and lost because everything has changed. It is not anyone’s fault but ours. We had imagined that life after the lockdown will be like a paradise or something but when we are actually out of the lockdown phase, it feels like our worst nightmare. Nothing excites us anymore, everything is fresh and new but it all seems different. The people, we have known for a long time, have changed. Everyone suffered, grieved in their own way. Last year was cruel for most of us. Some of us had a great life-changing experience, but some of us didn’t. Now the problem is that everyone expects us to be the same as we were one year ago even though we have changed a lot. It’s hard to pretend as nothing happened but no one is willing to admit that we have lost a lot in one year, all that laughter, joy, courage, and confidence, everything got lost when we were stuck in our houses. As I said, we learned how to connect through social media, we also learned how to live on social media, how to pretend to be happy on social media. Our life became a freaking social media circus. Now, in this reality phase, we are neither able to connect nor pretend to be happy. It was easy on social media as compared to real life. I think we all should adopt this change for our own good. We must understand each other, we should be there for the people we care about. Last year was a year of loss and pain, but this time, we can do a lot better, we can mend things. We can be mended. We mend each other.
